Hyderabad, February 3 – The All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has initiated its campaign for the upcoming municipal elections in Telangana. Party President Asaduddin Owaisi is leading outreach programs across the State, hoping to capitalize on the party’s past electoral performance in various states including Telangana, Maharashtra, and Bihar.
Over the last three days, Owaisi toured Tandur, Nalgonda, and Sangareddy, interacting with local residents. The AIMIM floor leader and Chandrayangutta MLA, Akbaruddin Owaisi, will join the campaign from Wednesday and address a public meeting in Mahabubnagar on the same day. Thousands of locals are expected to attend the event.
The AIMIM had a strong presence in several municipal corporations such as Nalgonda, Nizamabad, and Karimnagar, while securing multiple seats in municipalities like Vikarabad, Tandur, Bhainsa, among others, in previous elections.
Furthermore, the AIMIM showed significant progress in local bodies and municipalities in Maharashtra recently, as well as securing five seats in the recent Assembly elections in Bihar. This has boosted morale among party cadres.
