Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has asserted that the state’s brand image has significantly improved over the past 18 months, attracting 25% of total investments in the country. This claim was made during his address to the Telugu Diaspora in Zurich, as part of a four-day visit to attend the World Economic Forum meeting.
The Chief Minister announced several notable developments, including Google’s plan to set up an AI data center at Visakhapatnam and RSLR Mittal’s intention to establish a steel plant with an investment of INR 1 lakh crore. Furthermore, the AM Green company is planning a substantial investment in a Green Ammonia plant at Kakinada.
The event saw participation from Telugu Diaspora members from 20 countries. Naidu emphasized efforts to attract investments worth INR 22 lakh crore, aiming to provide employment opportunities for 20 lakh youth in the state.
Drawing parallels with the development of a small country like Liechtenstein, Naidu highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s focus on Quantum computing, AI, Space, and Drone technologies. He also mentioned plans to introduce the Sanjeevani health program through the state.
Naidu announced the creation of a corpus fund of INR 50 crore to encourage Non-Resident Telugus (NRTs) to become entrepreneurs. He encouraged NRTs not only to remain as employees but also to become employment providers by turning into entrepreneurs.
To facilitate this, the Andhra Pradesh government has allocated necessary cooperation and guidance through Ratan Tata Innovation Hub. The responsibility of developing NRTs as entrepreneurs has been entrusted to ministers Nara Lokesh, TG Bharath, and Union Minister Rammohan Naidu.
Naidu noted that while Telugu people reside in 195 countries, NRTs from Andhra Pradesh can be found in 148 countries. He invited NRTs to contribute to the state’s development by investing in entrepreneurial ventures.
