Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has emphasized the state’s preparedness with a skilled workforce to cater to global industries, as he seeks to attract European investments during his participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.
In Zurich, CM Naidu appealed for cooperation from India’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Mridul Kumar, to facilitate investments by Swiss companies in Andhra Pradesh. The meeting followed Naidu’s arrival on the first day of his four-day visit to Switzerland for the WEF sessions. Ministers Nara Lokesh and TG Venkatesh were also present at the meeting.
During the discussion, Naidu outlined the potential for Swiss investments across various sectors in Andhra Pradesh, highlighting opportunities in pharmaceuticals and medical equipment manufacturing, which align with Switzerland’s strength in these areas. He noted that the state government has rolled out 25 new policies to expedite industrial development.
The emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technologies, as well as skill development among youth, was a key focus of the conversation. This strategic approach aims to meet global demand for a skilled workforce. Ambassador Mridul Kumar acknowledged Andhra Pradesh’s success in attracting investments worth Rs 2 lakh crore following initiatives taken by Chandrababu Naidu during last year’s Davos WEF session.
Liechtenstein was mentioned as an example of a small European country that experienced rapid growth through the use of AI technology, with a delegation from Liechtenstein also attending the WEF sessions. Minister for Human Resources and Skill Development Nara Lokesh briefed the Indian Ambassador on Andhra Pradesh’s initiatives in this area.
