In a developing story from Andhra Pradesh, the prime suspect in the rape and murder of a seven-year-old girl was found dead in a lake on Wednesday. The victim’s body was discovered at the suspect’s home earlier, leading to an extensive manhunt by local authorities.
The deceased individual, identified as Kulavardhan (30), was found in Kanasanipalli village, Kuralabalakota mandal, in Annamayya district. The body was taken to the government hospital in Madanapalle town for a post-mortem examination.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Kulavardhan may have died by suicide. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway. It is worth noting that the suspect’s house was the last known location of the victim before her gruesome discovery.
The seven-year-old girl, a student of second class at a school in Madanapalle, went missing on Monday while playing near her home. Her parents, who were away for work, initiated a search when she was not found upon their return in the evening. The police were subsequently informed and launched an investigation.
Kulavardhan, the victim’s neighbor, had a criminal record. On Tuesday, a policeman visited his house as part of the investigation and found it locked from the inside with no response to door-knocking. When the victim’s grandfather later told the police that she was last seen with Kulavardhan, they revisited the house and discovered her body in a drum at the suspect’s residence.
The girl allegedly suffered rape and strangulation before her death. The local community is shocked by this tragic event, and authorities are working diligently to bring justice for the victim and her family.
