Deccan Alert | Deadly Collision Claims Two Lives in Andhra Pradesh's Nandyal District

In a tragic incident on Thursday morning, two individuals lost their lives after a private bus carrying passengers from Nellore to Hyderabad collided with a container lorry carrying motorcycles in the Nandyal district of Andhra Pradesh. The collision resulted in a fatal fire that engulfed both vehicles.

The accident occurred when the right-side tyre of the bus burst, causing the driver to lose control. The out-of-control vehicle veered onto the opposite lane, crashing into the oncoming container lorry. The impact from the collision caused both vehicles to catch fire.

Residents in the area, along with the bus cleaner and conductor, acted swiftly to break the windows of the burning bus and rescue the trapped passengers. However, the driver and the truck driver-cum-cleaner succumbed to severe injuries and burns. Their bodies were later taken to the Nandyal District Government Hospital.

Fortunately, all other passengers onboard managed to survive. Four passengers sustained minor fractures and were admitted to the Nandyal District Government Hospital for treatment.

Police arrived at the scene quickly and launched an investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that the tyre burst was the primary cause of the accident, leading to the deadly collision and subsequent fire.

This unfortunate incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of regular vehicle maintenance and road safety measures for travelers in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal district.
