Deccan Alert | Heat Alert Issued as Telangana Faces Rise in Daytime Temperatures

As temperatures in Telangana are predicted to soar, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for above-normal temperatures across nearly 25 districts in the region over the next few days. The anticipated daytime temperatures range from 36°C to 40°C.

The Health Department, in response, has issued an advisory urging precautions and hydration to prevent heat-related illnesses. Dr B Ravinder Nayak, Director of Public Health (DPH), advised the general public to restrict outdoor activity during afternoons between 12 noon and 4 pm when temperatures peak.

To combat the heat, the advisory also recommends staying hydrated through increased water intake, frequent use of ORS, and consumption of homemade drinks such as lemon water, butter milk, or fruit juices. It is suggested to wear thin, loose cotton garments in light colors, cover one’s head with an umbrella, hat, cap, or towel, and wear shoes or chappals.

Among the districts expected to experience a rise in maximum daytime temperatures are Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Mahabubabad, Nalgonda, Siddipet, Suryapet, Warangal, and Bhongir, while the rest of Telangana may be affected as well.

This development serves as a reminder for residents in Telangana to take necessary precautions during this period of elevated temperatures.
