Speaking at the inaugural session of the State-Level Stakeholders’ Consultation Meet – 2025 on Voice for the Voiceless held in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to ensuring justice and compassion for children at every stage, from police stations to courts.
The Chief Minister acknowledged the challenges posed by the POCSO Act and Juvenile Justice Act, emphasizing that procedures under these laws should aid child victims rather than cause them further harm. He underscored the importance of addressing the issue at all levels, including police stations, child centers, and courts, to ensure comprehensive protection for children in the digital age.
The Telangana Bharosa Project, a state initiative aimed at safeguarding children from abuse, has been highlighted as a key strategy in this regard. The project seeks to strengthen the existing child protection mechanisms by enhancing coordination among various departments and stakeholders involved in child welfare.
As part of the consultation meet, discussions focused on ways to improve the implementation of Child-Friendly Courts, which aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for child victims. Stakeholders from various sectors, including law enforcement, judiciary, social work, and technology, participated in the discussion to share best practices and brainstorm solutions for addressing this critical issue.
