In the ongoing investigation of alleged phone-tapping during the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government, Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha has pledged to comply with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) should she be summoned.
Kavitha, daughter of former Chief Minister and current BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), expressed her suspicion that her and her husband’s phones were also tapped during the said period. During a press conference, she stated, “If the SIT issues notice, I will appear before it and cooperate in the investigation.”
She anticipates that KCR will provide clarification on his examination by the SIT which took place for nearly five hours at his Hyderabad residence yesterday. The former Member of Legislative Council (MLC) reiterated her belief that the Congress government may not bring the real culprits to light, viewing the investigation as mere election-related “hustle-bustle.”
Kavitha criticized the slow progress in the case over the past two years and expressed hope for transparency and seriousness from the current administration to advance the investigation.
