In a significant move towards sustainable energy infrastructure, NUkler Products – a joint venture between Slovakia-based IQ Capital and Green House Enviro – has expressed interest in setting up a Small Modular Reactor (SMR) based clean energy project in Telangana.
The proposed project, with an installed capacity of up to 300 MW and an investment value of EUR 600 million (approximately ₹6,000 crore), was discussed during a meeting between NUkler Products representatives, led by chairman Jan Babic and Group CEO Anil Kumar Bavissetty, and the Telangana Rising delegation, headed by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday.
The Telangana Government, with a focus on sustainability as a key pillar of its net zero development target by 2047, has shown keen interest in encouraging such advanced and clean energy projects.
Meanwhile, Sargad – a US-based operator led industrial and investment platform – has expressed a desire for long-term, phased investments and ecosystem development initiatives in Telangana. The company’s CEO, Srinivas Thota, met with the Telangana Rising delegation to discuss potential investments of up to ₹1,000 crore over a period of three to five years.
These developments underscore the growing interest in Telangana as a destination for clean energy and sustainable infrastructure projects.
