The Telangana Legislative Assembly unanimously passed a resolution, calling upon the Centre to take immediate action to halt the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The resolution was introduced by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and passed via voice vote.
In the resolution, it is stated that the escalating war between various Middle Eastern nations, primarily involving the United States and Israel against Iran and Lebanon, has led to significant disruptions in global crude oil production and transportation. These disruptions have resulted in supply chain issues worldwide that could potentially impact economic conditions in numerous countries.
The resolution points out that this ongoing violence has already claimed nearly 4,000 innocent lives due to the use of advanced weaponry such as fighter bombers, ballistic missiles, and drones. It emphasizes that if left unchecked, the conflict could lead to a Third World War, posing a grave threat to humanity’s survival.
The resolution further urges the Government of India to take the initiative to end the war in the Middle East and work towards establishing global peace. With the potential for catastrophic consequences, it is hoped that this appeal from the Telangana Legislative Assembly will prompt action and help bring an end to the ongoing violence in the region.
