Deccan Alert | Telangana Board of Intermediate Education Extends Grace Period for Late Arrivals in IPE

In a move to accommodate students, the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TG BIE) has decided to allow a five-minute grace period for late arrivals at examination centers during the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE), scheduled from February 25 to March 18.

The decision comes as an extension of the same policy adopted last year, with students being permitted entry up until 9.05 am, given that the examinations will run from 9 am to 12 noon. Students are advised to arrive at their centers by 8.45 am to ensure a timely entrance.

The IPE will see the participation of over 10 lakh students enrolled in the intermediate first and second-year streams for the academic year 2025-26, out of which nearly 9.96 lakh have paid their examination fees. To manage the vast number of students efficiently, 1,495 centers have been established across the state.

Prior to the theory exams, practical examinations for both general and vocational streams will be conducted from February 2 to 21. English practical exams for the first and second year are slated for January 21 and 22, respectively. Over 1,900 centers have been set up for conducting these practical exams.

The TG BIE will issue separate hall tickets for practical and theory examinations, with the hall ticket number remaining consistent across both types of exams, much like last year. The practical examinations for the ethics and human values subjects (limited to backlog students only) and environmental education are scheduled for January 23 and 24, respectively.

The IPE commences on February 25, with practical examinations starting two weeks earlier on February 2.
