In Hyderabad, Telangana made a strong impact on the global investment scene during the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos. The state was represented by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and his Telangana Rising team, who attracted interest from various multinational corporations, governments, and businesses.

Notable among these were Google, Philips, Unilever, the UAE government, and Saudi Arabia’s Expertise Group, all expressing an eagerness to partner with Telangana across diverse sectors such as healthcare, skills development, urban infrastructure, and future cities.

During discussions with Royal Philips vice-president Jan Willem-Scheijgrond, Revanth Reddy highlighted the state’s ambition to become a $3 trillion economy by 2047 and presented the Telangana Rising-2047 vision. He emphasized Hyderabad’s status as a global hub for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) companies, stating that maintaining investor attractiveness required the development of intelligent systems.

In interactions with Google’s Asia-Pacific business president Sanjay Gupta, the Telangana delegation outlined their CURE, PURE, and RARE framework for regional economic growth, as well as plans to make core Hyderabad pollution-free. Gupta expressed Google’s readiness to assist Telangana in areas including traffic management, cybersecurity, agriculture, startups, and climate change.

The CM also held discussions with UAE minister for economy and tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, who acknowledged the potential for a partnership between the UAE government and Telangana to develop Bharat Future City into a leading global city. He suggested establishing a joint task force to expedite infrastructure projects and proposed a strategic collaboration between UAE food clusters and Telangana to bolster rural economic development.

Saudi Arabia’s Expertise Group, while specific details were not disclosed, also expressed interest in collaborating with Telangana on various initiatives. These interactions mark a significant step for Telangana in establishing partnerships with global entities that could potentially drive economic growth and development in the state.
