Hyderabad, March 16 – In a significant ceremony held today, Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla unveiled the ‘Telangana Thalli’ statue within the state legislature premises. The symbolic figure of ‘Mother Telangana’ served as an inspiring emblem for protagonists during the statehood movement.
On the opening day of the Telangana Assembly Budget Session, the Governor of the state, Shiv Pratap Shukla, along with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, unveiled the Telangana Thalli statue in the Assembly premises.
This latest move follows the earlier unveiling of a similar statue by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on 9 December 2024, which took place within the state secretariat premises. The ‘Telangana Thalli’ statue serves as a poignant reminder of Telangana’s struggle for independence and its eventual establishment as a separate state in 2014.
The unveiling ceremony held at the legislature premises was attended by several dignitaries, including government officials and representatives from various political parties, who expressed their appreciation for the significance of the symbolic figure in Telangana’s history.
As the ‘Telangana Thalli’ statue now graces the halls of the state legislature, it serves as a constant reminder of the spirit and resolve that led to the creation of the state of Telangana. The statue is set to inspire future generations who will continue to uphold the values and principles for which the region fought so valiantly in its pursuit of statehood.
