Deccan Alert | Telangana Medical Council Cracks Down on Unethical Practices in Mancherial Hospitals

Mancherial, 2025 – In an effort to maintain professional standards and uphold ethical guidelines, the Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) has issued show-cause notices to several doctors working at private hospitals within Mancherial town. The council took this proactive step following complaints from patients and the public regarding unethical medical practices.

The doctors in question have allegedly been treating patients outside their educational qualifications, a violation of both the National Medical Council (NMC) and Telangana Medical Council Acts. One such instance involves Dr. Rumela De Sarkar, who holds a Diploma in Cardiovascular Technology but has reportedly been treating orthopaedic patients, which falls beyond their specified medical field.

The TGMC’s decision to issue show-cause notices underscores its commitment to ensuring the highest level of care for patients and adherence to established medical practices. The council is now awaiting responses from the doctors in question regarding these allegations, after which appropriate action will be taken based on their explanations.

This move by the TGMC aims to restore public trust and confidence in the medical profession, ensuring that all practitioners operate within the bounds of their educational qualifications and ethical guidelines as established by both national and state regulatory bodies.
