Deccan Alert | Telangana Officer Under Investigation for Possessing Assets Worth Over Rs 7 Crore

In a move aimed at curbing corruption within the state administration, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana has launched an investigation against Arramada Venkat Reddy, Additional Collector (Revenue) and in-charge District Education Officer of Hanumakonda. The officer is currently on suspension.

The investigation was initiated following allegations that Reddy amassed assets far beyond his known sources of income through corrupt practices during his service. According to an official press note issued on January 21, searches were conducted at the officer’s residence and seven other locations linked to him and his relatives.

During these searches, ACB officials discovered several immovable properties owned by the accused and his family members. These include two residential houses (one villa and one flat), valued at approximately Rs 4.65 crore. The actual market value of these properties is likely to be significantly higher than the declared value.

In addition to the immovable properties, significant movable assets were also seized. The book value of these assets currently stands at around Rs 7.69 crore. However, according to the ACB, the market value of the seized assets exceeds Rs 50 crore.

The ACB stated that further verification is ongoing to identify additional assets and determine the exact extent of disproportionate wealth accumulated by the accused officer. The investigation serves as a reminder of the bureau’s commitment to maintain integrity in public service and enforce accountability among government officials.
