Deccan Alert | Telangana Regulatory Committee Sets Tuition Fees for Private Engineering Colleges

In a move aimed at ensuring transparency and fairness in the education sector, the Telangana Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (TAFRC) has finalized tuition fees for Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Technology (BTech) courses in private unaided engineering colleges across the state for the block period 2025-26 to 2027-28. The decision was announced through an order issued on March 4th, 2026.

The fixed fees do not encompass special fees or admission fees. Institutions have been instructed to collect the annual tuition fee only for that specific year, either as a lump sum or in installments.

The TAFRC has issued a stern warning against collecting capitation fee or any other unauthorized amounts, disguised as donation fees or similar. Any surplus generated from the collection of the fixed fees is intended to be utilized for the benefit of the institution and cannot be diverted for personal gain or other purposes.

The fee structure has been formulated based on data supplied by the institutions online. TAFRC emphasized that the data provided will undergo physical verification, and any discrepancies found may lead to a revision of the fees. In such cases, the matter will be reported to the concerned university and AICTE/relevant bodies for appropriate action as per the law.
