In the early hours of January 29, a tragic road accident took place on the Kathipudi National Highway in Andhra Pradesh’s Kakinada district. The incident resulted in one fatality and left another individual miraculously alive.
According to reports, two lorries collided, leading to an ensuing fire that claimed the life of the driver of one of the vehicles. The driver of the other lorry managed to survive the accident. CCTV footage of the incident, which was later shared online, showed both trucks engulfed by flames, causing a significant traffic jam on the highway.
Authorities were promptly notified and arrived at the scene to launch a rescue operation. The blaze was eventually extinguished, allowing for normal traffic flow to resume. Police have registered a case regarding the incident and have initiated a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
This unfortunate incident comes less than two weeks after another road mishap in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal district. Early on January 22, three lives were lost when a private bus and a container lorry collided, resulting in a fire that consumed both vehicles. The incident occurred near Shirivellametta village in Shirivella mandal of the district.
A viral video showed intense flames billowing from the bus. Several individuals were also reported injured in the blaze. Tragically, both drivers of the vehicles and the cleaner of the container truck perished in the fire.
The bus was en route from Nellore to Hyderabad with 36 passengers on board at the time of the accident. The exact circumstances leading to these two incidents are still under investigation.
