Deccan Alert | Yellow Weather Alert Issued Across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as Thundershowers Loom Until Thursday

In an announcement by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad, multiple districts of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have been placed under a yellow warning for intense thundershowers, lightning, and gusty winds lasting until Thursday.

The unpredictable weather has already started making its presence felt in Hyderabad on April 1, with the IMD predicting partly cloudy skies, rain, thunderstorms, or duststorms throughout the day. Similar conditions are expected to persist on April 2.

Twelve districts of Telangana have been put on high alert for spells of intense thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds ranging from 30 to 50 kmph. These include Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Jogulamba Gadwal, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, and Sangareddy.

The IMD has also issued a general weather alert for April 4 and 5, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across the state. However, as of now, no specific districts have been identified where conditions are anticipated to be severe.

Meanwhile, the Amravati Meteorological Centre has linked the weather change to an active trough and predicted light to moderate rains in several districts of Andhra Pradesh. Four districts – Alluri Sitarama Raju, Srikakulam, Kurnool, and Nandyal – have been specifically warned of thunderstorms.
