In a move to alleviate the suffering of families affected by the blast at the Pashamylaram pharma unit near Hyderabad, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced compensation for the victims on Tuesday. The families of those killed in the incident will receive a compensation of Rs one crore each, while those who sustained critical injuries will be paid Rs 10 lakh each. Those with minor injuries will receive Rs 5 lakh each.

The announcement was made after the Chief Minister visited the accident site and spoke to media personnel about the steps being taken by both the company management and the state government to provide aid to the victims. He also assured that necessary help would be extended to the affected families, including financial assistance for their rehabilitation.

The blast at the pharma unit in Pashamylaram occurred earlier this week, causing several fatalities and injuries. In response to the tragedy, the Chief Minister directed officials to provide immediate financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.

This incident has sparked outrage across Odisha and other parts of India, with many questioning the safety measures in place at the unit. The state government is now under pressure to investigate the cause of the blast and take appropriate action against those responsible for any lapses in safety protocols.

The pharma company, meanwhile, has issued a statement expressing its condolences to the families of the deceased and wishes for a speedy recovery for those injured. It has also pledged to cooperate fully with the authorities in their investigation into the incident.

As the details of the compensation packages and other support measures continue to emerge, affected families will be hoping for swift and comprehensive action from both the company management and the state government. With the tragic events at Pashamylaram serving as a stark reminder of the need for stringent safety protocols in industrial units, attention is now turning to the steps being taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
