The Independent Expert Working Group (IEWG), constituted to analyze the Social, Education, Economic, Employment, Political and Caste (SEEEPC) survey conducted by the Telangana state government, has finalized its report. The IEWG met at the MCHRD Institute under the chairmanship of Justice B Sudarshan Reddy on Wednesday and concluded the report.

The report, titled “Composite Backwardness Index: A Study on Socioeconomic Backwardness in Telangana State,” utilizes a unique analytical model to measure backwardness across 242 castes in the state. The IEWG has proposed certain policy recommendations based on the findings of the Composite Backwardness Index (CBI), aiming to address identified issues and promote social justice and equality in the region.

The report, which is yet to be made public, is expected to offer a comprehensive analysis of socioeconomic status across various castes within Telangana. The CBI is set to serve as an essential tool for policymakers to address caste-based disparities and work towards social equality.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has not been directly involved in this matter, with the focus being on the social and economic aspects of the study conducted by the state government. The CBI operates primarily within the realm of politics, investigating allegations of corruption and malpractices at the national level.

As the findings of the report are unveiled, it remains to be seen how they will impact policy decisions and social harmony in Telangana. Stakeholders across various sectors have expressed anticipation for the public release of the report and its potential implications for promoting social justice and equality in the state.
