Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will preside over the foundation stone laying ceremony for the ambitious Godavari Phase-II and III water supply project, scheduled to take place near Gandipet. The project, initiated by the Congress government, aims to bring an additional 20 TMC (thousand million cubic feet) of water to Hyderabad from Mallannasagar reservoir, located in Siddipet district, approximately 70 km away from the city.
After the tender for Godavari Phase-II & III was sanctioned by the government, it has been finalized with Megha Engineering Infrastructure Limited and Ramky Group, who have been given a 24-month timeline to complete both phases of the project. The estimated cost of this phase is approximately Rs 7,360 crore.
The Godavari Phase-II & III project is crucial for Hyderabad’s water security, as it will help mitigate the city’s growing demand for water. The project is expected to significantly boost the city’s water supply capacity and provide a reliable source of water during periods of drought or scarcity.
Further details regarding the exact date of the foundation stone laying ceremony and additional updates on the progress of the project will be announced in due course. Stay tuned for more information as this story develops.
