In a significant legal decision on Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Telangana Forest Department regarding a 102-acre forest land dispute in Sahebnagar Kalan, Ranga Reddy district. The ruling dismisses ownership claims made by three individuals who asserted themselves as heirs or nominees of Salar Jung III, a prominent figure in Hyderabad’s history who served as Prime Minister under the Nizam’s rule in 1912.
The long-standing land dispute has now been resolved, with the court ordering that the contested forest land be declared a reserved forest within eight weeks. The decision comes after a protracted legal battle between the three claimants and the Telangana Forest Department.
