In a surprising turn of events, Kummari Ranjith, the newly elected sarpanch of Lingapur village in Kadam mandal’s Nirmal district, has adopted an unconventional approach to address the persistent monkey problem plaguing his community.
The viral video shows Ranjith jumping around in a bear costume, seemingly aimed at scaring away the monkeys that have been causing disruptions in the village. The innovative strategy was initiated after earlier attempts to trap the animals using cages failed to produce desired results.
Villagers had contributed 50 rupees per household towards installing cages, yet the method proved ineffective. Frustrated by the ongoing monkey menace, Ranjith decided to take matters into his own hands and devised this unique solution.
While the effectiveness of this approach remains to be seen, residents seem optimistic about their sarpanch’s commitment to addressing local issues. As one resident noted, “Ranjith has always been proactive in dealing with problems facing our community. This bear costume may be an unusual approach, but it shows his dedication and creativity.”
