In response to the escalating road safety crisis in India, the Telangana government has taken a significant step by adopting the SaveLIFE Foundation’s (SLF) “Zero-Fatality” framework. This decision comes as part of the National Road Safety Month and follows directives from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).

The state government aims to address India’s ongoing road safety crisis, which claims an estimated 170,000 lives annually, equivalent to over 450 lives lost daily. To tackle this issue, they have enlisted SLF’s technical expertise to implement solutions across high-risk corridors.

The SaveLIFE Foundation’s “Zero-Fatality” model focuses on comprehensive improvements in infrastructure, trauma care, and law enforcement. The foundation’s flagship programs like Zero Fatality Corridor (ZFC) and Zero Fatality District (ZFD) will be deployed to reduce the number of road accidents and fatalities within Telangana.

The initiative is expected to impact multiple areas, from improved emergency care systems to enhanced enforcement measures. The collaboration between the government and SLF represents a commitment towards addressing India’s persistent road safety crisis and ensuring safer roads for all citizens.
