As the All India Congress Committee (AICC) convenes a key strategy meeting in Delhi today, to prepare for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, demands for power sharing within the state’s ruling alliance have come into sharper focus. Virudhunagar MP Manickam Tagore has emerged as a prominent voice raising the issue, adding a new layer to the Congress’s internal and alliance-level deliberations.
While the AICC meeting is expected to outline the party’s electoral roadmap for Tamil Nadu, Tagore’s intervention has drawn attention to questions of equitable representation and decision-making within the alliance. Although he has not publicly detailed a specific power-sharing formula, his remarks have triggered wider political discussion on inclusivity and balance in the state’s political setup.
Tagore is understood to have articulated his views publicly ahead of the meeting, contributing to a growing debate within Tamil Nadu politics. With the Assembly elections approaching, issues of alliance dynamics, representation and power sharing are likely to gain further prominence in the run-up to Assembly Polls.
