Deccan Alert | Kavitha’s New Party Buzz: Reports Link Prashant Kishor to Talks, Strategist Denies Any Role

In a potential shakeup for the political landscape of Telangana, sources reveal that K Kranthi Kavitha, head of cultural organization Telangana Jagruthi and daughter of former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, is in discussions with election strategist Prashant Kishor regarding the launch of a new political party.

During his recent five-day visit to Hyderabad, Kishor, founder of Bihar-based political outfit Jan Suraaj, reportedly showed interest in collaborating with Kavitha to shape this new political platform. The talks have been gaining momentum, particularly during the Makar Sankranti festival, where discussions focused on building a people-centric party and outlining its organizational structure, public outreach strategy, and long-term political roadmap.

Kavitha’s suspension from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in September 2025, following accusations of image tarnishing against her cousins T Harish Rao and J Santosh Kumar over the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project, has been a turning point for Kavitha. Since her resignation from the Telangana Legislative Council in January 2026, she has been increasingly active on public issues under the banner of Telangana Jagruthi.

Recent months have seen Kavitha launching sharp attacks on various political entities, indicating a possible shift in her political stance. However, the exact nature and timing of this new party’s launch remain unclear at this stage.

Political sources suggest that Prashant Kishor may play a strategic role in the formation and expansion of the new party should Kavitha formally announce its launch. The potential collaboration between Kavitha and Kishor promises to bring fresh dynamics into Telangana’s political arena.

Meanwhile, Political strategist Prashant Kishor has categorically denied rumors suggesting that he is working with former MP and Telangana Jagruthi President, Kalvakuntla Kavitha, for her upcoming political venture.

The clarification comes after Kavitha’s recent announcement in the Telangana Legislative Council regarding her plans to launch a new political party following her resignation from the MLC post. Reports had been circulating in the media and on social platforms claiming that the two had met twice recently to discuss the new party’s roadmap for Telangana.

However, Prashant Kishor dismissed these claims as baseless rumors, stating that no such meetings or professional collaborations have taken place. While Kavitha is moving forward with her independent political path after parting ways with the BRS, Kishor has made it clear that he is not involved in her strategic planning.
