Deccan Alert | World Economic Forum Expresses Interest in Partnering with Telangana on 'Rising 2047' Vision

The World Economic Forum (WEF) has shown interest in collaborating with the government of Telangana on its ambitious vision, ‘Telangana Rising 2047’. This development follows a meeting between Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Jeremy Jurgens, Managing Director of WEF, and Manju George, Head of Strategic Impact and Integration at C4IR Network.

During the discussions held in Davos, Revanth presented the ‘Telangana Rising 2047’ roadmap and strategy to achieve the goal of transforming Telangana into a $3 trillion economy. The CM emphasized the current focus on promoting electric vehicles and transitioning towards renewable energy. He also discussed various skilling initiatives undertaken through Advanced Technology Centres, Young India Skills University, and Young India Sports University.

The Hyderabad delegation led by Revanth highlighted the city’s strengths in aerospace, defence, bio-design, software, and pharmaceuticals. The discussions revolved around C4IR Telangana (Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution), which was launched in Hyderabad at BioAsia 2024 as WEF’s thematic center for healthcare and life sciences in India. Its aim is to drive health-tech innovation, policy, and workforce skills through strategic partnerships with industry and academia.

Jurgens commended the launch of C4IR Telangana at BioAsia 2024 as a positive role model for WEF in India. He also acknowledged the numerous opportunities that the ‘Telangana Rising 2047’ vision presents for potential cooperation between the two parties.
