Hyderabad, India – Residents in various districts of Telangana are bracing for a challenging week as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast extreme weather conditions. The upcoming days will see temperatures climbing above 40°C, particularly in districts such as Adilabad, Jogulamba Gadwal, KomramBheem Asifabad, Mahabubnagar, Mancherial, Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet, Nirmal, and Wanaparthy.

In addition to the scorching heat, thunderstorms, lightning, hailstorms, and gusty winds are expected to hit the region late in the evening or night. The IMD has issued an orange alert for these weather events across multiple districts, including Adilabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Hanumakonda, Hyderabad, Jagtial, Jangaon, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Jogulamba Gadwal, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Khammam, Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mahabubabad, Mahabubnagar, Mancherial, Medak, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Mulugu, Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Narayanpet, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Peddapalli, Rajanna Sircilla, Rangareddy, Sangareddy, Siddipet, Suryapet, Vikarabad, Wanaparthy, Warangal, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri.

On Thursday, the IMD in Hyderabad announced the weather forecast for Telangana with majority of its districts expecting temperatures between 36°C and 40°C. The heatwave is expected to continue with temperatures potentially surpassing 40°C in some regions during the coming days.

This week’s extreme weather conditions come as a double concern for Hyderabad and other Telangana districts where residents will need to navigate both the high temperatures and thunderstorms throughout the week.
