Deccan Alert | Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Announces Performance Evaluation System and Other Initiatives for Government Employees

In a move aimed at enhancing efficiency and effectiveness, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced a continuous performance evaluation system for government employees on Tuesday. The announcement was made during a review of departmental functioning from the RTGS facility at the Secretariat in Vijayawada.

Naidu emphasized that officials who deliver strong results would be encouraged, while those lagging behind would be corrected and, if necessary, action taken as per rules. He further revealed his intention to personally assess ground-level implementation during his district tours through surprise inspections, evaluating both departmental outcomes and individual performance.

Communication was another key focus area for Naidu, who directed the administrative machinery to actively use social media platforms to disseminate government initiatives and counter misinformation. He underscored the importance of ensuring that people clearly understand the benefits of welfare programs and encouraged the use of influencers to improve outreach.

In his address, Naidu highlighted the need to remove administrative and technical bottlenecks in service delivery. To strengthen capacity, he proposed setting up a state-level training center in Amaravati along with zonal training facilities.

Flagging irregularities in the issuance of caste certificates, Naidu directed officials to rectify discrepancies and ensure strict safeguards against misuse. He attributed existing errors to lapses during the previous regime and called for greater diligence going forward.

On law and order, Naidu stressed the need to leverage technology for tracking missing persons and monitoring anti-social elements. He outlined plans to expand CCTV networks as part of these efforts.

The Chief Minister also pushed for strengthening the innovation ecosystem, directing that the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub collaborate with leading organizations such as NVIDIA and expand outreach to universities. No further details were provided about these collaborations.
