Deccan Alert | Andhra Pradesh showcases MSME reforms to World Bank delegation

In a significant meeting held on Thursday at the AP MSME Development Corporation office in Mangalagiri, a joint team from the World Bank and the Union MSME ministry reviewed the implementation of the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) program in Andhra Pradesh. The delegation was led by MSME minister Kondapalli Srinivas, who briefed the team on the state’s strategy to strengthen micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Srinivas emphasized the importance of formalization, better market access, and digital governance in enhancing the competitiveness of MSMEs. He also highlighted the ‘One Family, One Enterprise’ initiative, an effort aimed at promoting grassroots entrepreneurship across the state. As of current, 19 MSME parks are operational in Andhra Pradesh, with 82 more under construction and expected to be commissioned soon. The state government is working towards establishing an MSME park in every Assembly constituency.

During the meeting, officials provided insights into awareness drives and policy measures designed to improve enterprise competitiveness under the RAMP framework. The World Bank team expressed satisfaction with the progress made and commended Andhra Pradesh for its outcome-oriented approach, positioning it as a leading example of MSME reforms implementation.

The delegation included Adarsh Kumar, Harsh Jhanjharia from the World Bank, Ankita Pandey (director, RAMP), and senior officials from the MSME Ministry such as Milan Sharma and Atul Inamdar. CEO Viswa Manoharan was also present at the meeting.
