Deccan Alert | Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu Meets Cricket Legend Sachin Tendulkar Ahead of India's ICC Men's T20 World Cup Match

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, shared his delight after meeting cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Monday. The meeting comes as the Indian men’s cricket team prepares for their second group-stage fixture of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be held at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium against Namibia on Thursday.

In their previous match, India faced a challenging situation, finding themselves in trouble at 77 for 6 after 12.4 overs. However, the team rallied thanks to an unbeaten innings of 84 runs off 49 balls from captain Suryakumar and contributions from wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan (20 runs off 16 balls) and Tilak Varma (25 runs off 16 balls).

The Indian bowling attack also shone, with Mohammed Siraj, Axar Patel, and Arshdeep Singh taking crucial wickets. Siraj, in particular, impressed with figures of 3 for 29, while Patel and Singh took two wickets each.

As the cricket fervor builds ahead of Thursday’s match, Naidu’s meeting with Tendulkar adds an extra layer of excitement to the upcoming clash. The iconic cricketer is undoubtedly a source of inspiration for many, including the current Indian team and their supporters.
