In a move aimed at combating corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets case against Mood Kishan Nayak, the Deputy Transport Commissioner of Mahabubnagar district. The investigation uncovered properties, land, cash, gold, and vehicles worth approximately INR 12.72 crore across Telangana.

The ACB’s searches revealed that Mr. Kishan holds a 50% share in Lahari International Hotel in Nizamabad, apart from other properties, agricultural land, and a 3,000 sq yards Royaloak Furniture space. The market value of these assets is believed to be significantly higher than the reported figure.

The ACB’s findings have raised questions about Mr. Kishan’s financial dealings and his role in the transport department. The bureau conducted searches at several locations, including the Lahari International Hotel and a residence linked to Mr. Kishan in Hyderabad, amid allegations of misuse of office for personal gain.

The case is being closely monitored by the authorities as it underscores the need for transparency and accountability in public service positions, especially those involving the management of critical infrastructure like transportation. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to be released as the probe progresses.
