Hyderabad, July 19 (The New Indian Express) – In a significant development in the ongoing political discourse between Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), working president of the latter, KT Rama Rao, has issued a challenge to chief minister A Revanth Reddy. During a meeting with party workers in Hyderabad on Friday, KTR said he was ready for a debate with Revanth at any location, including the fort in Kodangal.

This comes after the chief minister accused KT Rama Rao of being involved in alleged phone tapping and other issues over the past 20 months. KTR clarified that he did not actually meet AP minister Nara Lokesh contrary to rumors or remarks made by the chief minister.

Earlier in the day, KT Rama Rao visited the family of the late former MLA Madan Lal in Khammam and addressed a meeting of party workers. He expressed his readiness for a debate with Revanth, even in the assembly, provided Opposition mikes are not cut off abruptly.

This challenge from KTR follows a series of allegations and counter-allegations between the two political figures. It remains to be seen whether the chief minister will accept this challenge and if so, where and when the debate will take place. The fort in Kodangal, a historic site in Telangana, would add an intriguing backdrop to the anticipated debate.
