Hyderabad, Telangana (27th November 2025) – In a significant move aimed at bolstering the country’s defense and aerospace sector, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to designate the ‘Hyderabad-Bengaluru’ stretch as a ‘Defense and Aerospace’ corridor.
Speaking at an event following the inauguration of the LEAP engine Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility and the laying of the foundation stone for M88 MRO at GMR Aeropark, Reddy emphasized the potential of Hyderabad in contributing to ‘Viksit Bharat@47’ in a more impactful manner.
With over 25 major global companies and more than 1,500 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the aerospace and defense sector, Hyderabad has become a significant hub in the industry. The city’s strategic location in Telangana, a state that boasts India’s best-ranked industrial and MSME policies, offers world-class infrastructure and dedicated aerospace parks and Special Economic Zones (SEZs), making it an attractive destination for global investments.
By designating the ‘Hyderabad-Bengaluru’ stretch as a Defense and Aerospace corridor, it is hoped that this will further stimulate growth in the sector, foster collaboration between industry players, and create more job opportunities. The move aligns with the central government’s vision for a self-reliant India and its goal to make India a global leader in defense and aerospace technology by 2047.
