Hyderabad: In preparation for the upcoming local body elections, the Indian National Congress party announced the appointment of a new Vice President and General Secretary for its Telangana chapter on Tuesday. The move is aimed at bolstering the party’s organization and strategy to secure success in the polls.
Speaking about the changes, Congress leader Madhu Goud Yaskhi highlighted the importance of consolidating the party’s strength. He said, “A new Public Affairs Advisory Committee has been appointed, and a new Vice President, General Secretary of Telangana Congress has been appointed to help us achieve our goals.”
The appointment comes at a critical time as the Congress party gears up for local body elections, which are expected to be a significant test of its political standing in Telangana. Ponguleti Srinivasa, a seasoned party member, has been appointed as the new Vice President, while the identity of the General Secretary is yet to be disclosed.
The appointments are part of a larger strategy to rejuvenate the Congress organization and regain its lost ground in Telangana. The party has been facing stiff competition from regional parties like the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The new appointments are expected to bring fresh perspectives and energy into the Congress leadership in Telangana. However, the success of these changes will only be evident during the elections and beyond. Until then, observers will closely watch how the newly appointed leaders navigate the political landscape and lead the party forward.
