In a tradition-bound ceremony, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy offered special prayers at the Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Temple in Secunderabad on Sunday. The occasion marked the annual Ashadamasam Bonalu celebrations, which are significant to the local community.
During the visit, the Chief Minister presented silk clothes to the deity Sri Mahankali. He was accorded a ‘purnakhumbham’ welcome by the temple priests and vedic scholars upon his arrival at the temple. The ‘purnakhumbham’ is a traditional ritualistic welcome involving a vessel filled with pure water, symbolizing purity and auspiciousness.
