The Chief Minister of Telangana, A Revanth Reddy, inaugurated a new 300-bed multispecialty branch of AIG Hospitals at Banjara Hills on Wednesday. This expansion is set to fortify Hyderabad’s position as a premier healthcare destination in India, and further the Telangana government’s commitment towards promoting health tourism and accessible healthcare.
Speaking at the event, Reddy emphasized that health and education are top priorities for the state, with an allocation of Rs 11,500 crore for health and Rs 21,500 crore for education in this fiscal year. To underscore the government’s dedication to preventive healthcare, unique ID health profile cards will be issued.
The Chief Minister also highlighted that health tourism will play a significant role in the upcoming Telangana Rising 2047 policy, which aims to elevate the state as a hub for medical tourism. This policy aligns with the government’s vision of making healthcare accessible and affordable for all residents and visitors alike.
The expansion of AIG Hospitals is part of this commitment. Located in both Sanathnagar and Banjara Hills, the hospital offers a wide range of medical services, catering to patients from various socio-economic backgrounds. With the addition of the new 300-bed branch at Banjara Hills, the hospital is now equipped to provide comprehensive care across multiple specialties.
The LB Nagar area, known for its burgeoning healthcare sector, is also set to benefit from this focus on health tourism. With world-class facilities and dedicated medical professionals, it continues to attract patients from across India and beyond, further solidifying Telangana’s standing as a leading healthcare destination.
As the state moves forward with its vision for 2047, the emphasis on health tourism promises to not only bolster the healthcare sector but also contribute significantly to the state’s economy. With premier hospitals like AIG Hospitals at the helm, Hyderabad is poised to become a beacon of medical excellence in India.
