Telangana’s Directorate of Medical Education Manages State Medical College Admissions for NEET UG 2025

The Directorate of Medical Education in Telangana has taken charge of the admissions and counselling process for the state medical colleges, as confirmed on July 2, 2025. This process includes several prestigious institutions such as Gandhi Medical College, Osmania Medical College, Kakatiya Medical College, Government Medical College, Nizamabad, and Government Medical College, Suryapet.

In addition to these government colleges, private medical colleges like Bhaskar Medical College, Chalmeda Anand Rao Institute of Medical Sciences, MNR Medical College & Hospital, and Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences are also part of the admissions process.

This year’s NEET UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate) exams were held across the country on June 20, 2025. The results were announced on June 30, and the process of admission to medical colleges in Telangana has now commenced under the supervision of the Directorate of Medical Education.

According to the local candidate criteria, students residing in Telangana have a higher preference for admissions. However, students from other states are also eligible to apply. The selection process involves multiple rounds of counselling and seat allotment based on the merit list generated from the NEET UG scores.
