KOCHI — In a strategic move, the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has decided to broaden its political base by admitting P V Anvar’s Trinamool Congress and C K Janu’s Janadhipathya Rashtriya Sabha as associate members. The decision was made during a high-level UDF leadership meeting held in the city on Monday, marking an early and aggressive build-up for the upcoming Assembly elections.
According to reliable sources, alongside Anvar and Janu, Vishnupuram Chandrasekharan of Kamraj Congress was also inducted as an associate member. The move comes after the UDF’s substantial victory in the recent local body elections, bolstering its confidence ahead of the state Assembly elections.
