In a strategic move aimed at bolstering the state’s position as a global quantum technology hub, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced a substantial reward of Rs 100 crores for a Nobel laureate in the field of quantum computing. This initiative underscores the state government’s commitment to advancing research and development within its borders.
The ambitious plan, which seeks to establish Amaravati as a focal point for quantum technology, will see the production of four distinct types of quantum computers – Neural Atom, Trapped Ion, Photonics, and Topological – within a two-year timeframe.
This initiative extends beyond the general production of quantum computers, as the state aims to establish a comprehensive manufacturing supply chain encompassing cryogenics, semiconductors, algorithms, and AI applications.
