Hyderabad, December 15 – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that a cold wave continued to sweep across the Indian state of Telangana on Sunday. Several districts experienced minimum temperatures significantly below normal, with Adilabad recording the lowest temperature at 6.2°C – a drop of 6.6°C from the usual minimum. Medak followed closely behind with a minimum temperature of 8.8°C.
The IMD’s forecast indicates that dry weather is expected to persist across Telangana for an unspecified period, potentially prolonging the cold conditions. The chilly temperatures have raised concerns among local officials and residents, who are advised to take necessary precautions against the drop in temperature.
Adilabad, a district located in northern Telangana, has been particularly affected by these cold wave conditions. The district’s minimum temperature of 6.2°C marks a stark contrast from its usual winter minimum, making it one of the coldest places in the state thus far this season.
As the winter season continues, residents and officials alike are urged to stay vigilant and take appropriate measures to protect themselves against the colder-than-usual temperatures. The IMD will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as needed.
