In a significant political move by the state government, final notifications for the restructuring of districts were issued on Tuesday. Among these changes, the creation of two new districts – Markapuram and Polavaram – was confirmed.
The bustling town of Rampachodavaram will serve as the headquarters for the newly formed Polavaram district, signifying a significant shift in administrative structure. The decision comes as part of an ongoing effort to streamline governance and improve service delivery at the local level.
Each of these new districts will comprise three revenue divisions and a total of 25 mandals.
