Visakhapatnam, December 15 – A significant drop in minimum temperatures was observed across several districts of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, December 14. According to the latest weather forecasts, this trend is expected to persist for the next few days as winter chills continue to grip the state.

In the southernmost district of Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR), eight locations recorded temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. Chintapalle, a town in the district, was the coldest with a minimum temperature of 7.5 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperatures in coastal Andhra Pradesh (CAP) as well as Rayalaseema districts began reporting a noticeable decline.

Weather forecasters predict that this chill is likely to persist, offering a stark contrast to the normal weather patterns typically experienced during this time of year. While daytime temperatures are predicted to remain below normal in south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema, they are expected to be above normal in north coastal Andhra Pradesh for the coming days.

The ongoing cold wave has led to many parts of the state experiencing temperatures 2 to 4 degrees Celsius below the average for this season. The drop in temperature is a reminder of the approaching winter season, urging residents to take necessary precautions against the cold weather.
